University Celebrates the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 with Enthusiasm and Commitment towards Holistic Well-being

The School of Ancient Hindu Sciences celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from the entire university community, reaffirming the significance of Yoga as a pathway towards health, harmony, and holistic development.

The celebration commenced with a gracious welcome address by the School of Ancient Hindu Sciences, highlighting the profound importance of Yoga as a timeless discipline that promotes physical vitality, mental clarity, emotional balance, and inner harmony.

The programme was further enriched by a captivating welcome dance performance by the Department of Dance, presenting the traditional elegance of Kuchipudi and creating an inspiring beginning to the celebration.

The distinguished dignitaries Senior university officials and chief guest addressed the gathering and emphasized the relevance of Yoga in contemporary life. They highlighted the importance of adopting Yoga as a regular practice to foster discipline, self-awareness, and a balanced lifestyle.

Students from various schools of the university actively participated in the celebration along with teaching faculty members, non-teaching staff, and support staff, making the event a true reflection of unity and collective well-being.

The Yoga practice session was conducted following the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) prescribed by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. The protocol was demonstrated and guided by the faculty members of the Department of Yoga, ensuring systematic and meaningful participation by all members of the university community.

The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the Department of Yoga, expressing gratitude to the university leadership, dignitaries, faculty members, staff, and students for their valuable contribution towards the successful organization of the event.

As part of the celebration, the university community collectively pledge embraced the essence of Yoga by recognizing the importance of dedicating time for self-care, cultivating a disciplined lifestyle, and integrating yogic values into daily living. Discipline is the highest form of self-respect, and the practice of Yoga serves as a powerful means to develop consistency, awareness, and all-round growth.
